SEPAL Teaching Squares

What is the SEPAL Teaching Squares Program?

SEPAL Teaching Squares consists of four Community College Biology Instructors (CCBI's) from San Francisco/Bay Area schools meeting once a month to discuss their teaching, and visiting each others classrooms.  By providing a space for peer collaboration, SEPAL Teaching Squares supports CCBI's in reflecting on their teaching and implementing aspects of scientific teaching in their classes.

SEPAL Teaching Squares Aims to:

  • Foster community and peer support among current part-time and full-time Community College Biology Instructors (CCBI)
  • Provide support for CCBI interested in infusing their teaching practice with new ideas
  • Grow biology education partnership efforts among Bay Area Community Colleges and San Francisco State University
  • How do I get involved?

If you are interested in SEPAL programs serving Community College Biology Instructors in the bay area, please contact the SEPAL Community College Teaching Square Program Coordinator, Jeff Schinske.
