SEPAL Director Kimberly Tanner presented and facilitated a discussion entitled 'Publishing in Science Education Journals' at the joint University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco State University (SFSU) IRACDA Conference 2009 last week. - 2/06/09: Spectrum: Bringing together a community of women scientists. On Tuesday, we had our first after-school girls science club field trip to SFSU. The James Lick Middle School Science Club visited Associate Professor Lily Chen. The girls had a fantastic time testing each other for strep throat. Lily shared about her research on viruses and how disease is transmitted, as well as her experience as a woman in science.
